Folded paper cubes representing individual memories

A workshop for families: memories, paper & stories

Join me on Saturday 16th July at Cockpit Arts Holborn, for a morning of sharing stories and paper-folding.

What is it about?

Use your own photographs, maps, tickets, hand-written stories as raw material to create unique folded paper mementos – remembering and sharing a special moment – perhaps hearing it from a different angle amongst those you love.

The class will be split into small groups and you will be encouraged to reflect together on the material you brought in, through handwriting stories and anecdotes – Using simple paper-folding techniques to help us to engage with the stories being shared.

Who is it for?

The workshop aims to enable different generations to come together and share stories – perhaps using this time to explore your family history, remembering a special moment or celebrating a loved one.

Paper-folding can be a calming, mindful activity helping us to be more grounded in the present.

Children (aged 7+), young adults, grown-ups, and grand-parents are all welcome.

How much will it cost?

Per class: £10 for individuals, £8 each if two or more people are booking together.

Ticket prices are minimal to cover my costs – As this is a new class, I will ask for detailed feedback at the end of the session. I would love to hear your thoughts, and do hope you can join me!

The class needs a minimum of 8 participants to run.

What should I bring?

Please bring any printed material you would like to reflect on, perhaps picking a particular time in your life – A4 printouts of digital photos (best print size for images is 10cm x 15cm) and tickets, written material, maps, leaflets. If it can be folded, we can use it!

Actual photographs will be more difficult to fold so I would suggest scanning or photocopying these instead.

When and where will it be?

The class will run on Saturday 16th July 2016 from 10.30 to 12.40.

It will be held in the Education space, in Cockpit Arts.

Cockpit Yard, Northington Street, London WC1N 2NP
